Sonia.vet Terms of Use
Welcome to Sonia.vet, an AI-powered veterinary triage assistant delivered via WhatsApp and other digital channels by Vidaah (“Sonia”, “Sonia.vet”, “we”, “us”, or the “platform”).
By accessing, using, or sending any message, audio, image, video, document, or information to Sonia.vet, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Use.
If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use Sonia.vet.
1. What Sonia.vet is
Sonia.vet is a tool for triage, initial guidance, and organization of information about animal health, created to help pet parents understand the signs they observe, identify possible levels of urgency, and decide when to seek in-person veterinary care.
Sonia.vet may ask questions, analyze information you provide, suggest general next steps, flag warning signs, and recommend in-person veterinary care — especially in urgent or emergency situations.
2. What Sonia.vet is not
Sonia.vet is not a veterinary clinic, is not a veterinary hospital, does not replace a veterinary consultation, does not provide a clinical diagnosis, does not prescribe medications, does not issue medical reports, does not perform exams, does not monitor emergencies in real time, and does not replace evaluation by a licensed veterinarian.
Sonia.vet's responses are based on the information you provide and may be incomplete, imprecise, or insufficient — especially when physical examination, lab tests, full clinical history, or in-person evaluation are missing.
3. Emergencies and urgent situations
Sonia.vet must not be used as the primary channel for veterinary emergencies.
Seek immediate in-person care at a veterinary clinic or 24-hour hospital if your animal shows, among others, the following signs:
difficulty breathing; seizures; fainting; trauma; being hit by a vehicle; heavy bleeding; suspected poisoning; severe pain; persistent vomiting; severe diarrhea; inability to urinate; abdominal distension; ingestion of a foreign object; complicated labor; paralysis; collapse; pale or bluish mucous membranes; rapid worsening of overall condition.
If you are unsure how serious the situation is, treat it as potentially urgent and seek in-person care.
4. Proper use of the platform
You agree to use Sonia.vet only for lawful, personal, and informational purposes related to animal care.
You agree to provide truthful, complete, and up-to-date information about the animal, including species, age, approximate weight, symptoms, duration of signs, medications in use, pre-existing conditions, recent history, photos, videos, or any other relevant data.
The quality of triage depends directly on the quality of the information you provide.
5. Limitations of artificial intelligence
Sonia.vet uses artificial intelligence and automated systems. Although the platform is designed to provide useful guidance, its responses may contain errors, omissions, incorrect interpretations, or inadequate recommendations.
Sonia.vet may fail to correctly identify all clinical signs, risks, diseases, contraindications, drug interactions, or urgent situations.
You acknowledge that any decision about your animal's health must be made with care and, when necessary, with evaluation by a licensed veterinarian.
6. No veterinarian–client–patient relationship
Use of Sonia.vet, by itself, does not create a veterinarian–client–patient relationship, a clinical relationship, a professional engagement, or a duty of ongoing follow-up between you, your animal, Sonia.vet, Vidaah, or any professional that may be associated with the platform.
When Sonia.vet recommends in-person care, that recommendation should be acted on with urgency proportional to the case.
7. Referrals and third parties
Sonia.vet may suggest that you seek clinics, hospitals, professionals, services, or other external resources. Such suggestions, when present, are informational only.
Sonia.vet does not guarantee the availability, quality, price, outcome, professional conduct, care, diagnosis, treatment, or any service provided by third parties.
The choice of any clinic, hospital, professional, or service is the user's responsibility.
8. Medications, treatments, and clinical guidance
Sonia.vet does not prescribe medications and does not replace individualized professional advice.
Do not administer medications, supplements, substances, home remedies, or treatments to your animal based solely on information received from Sonia.vet. Medications intended for humans can be dangerous or fatal for animals.
Any treatment must be confirmed by a licensed veterinarian, especially in puppies, senior animals, pregnant animals, animals with pre-existing conditions, or cases involving pain, fever, poisoning, trauma, or rapid deterioration.
9. User responsibility
You are responsible for:
providing correct and complete information; observing your animal; seeking in-person care when recommended; getting immediate help in emergencies; not delaying necessary veterinary care; not using Sonia.vet as a substitute for consultation, diagnosis, treatment, or prescription; and using good judgment when assessing the information you receive.
Delaying in-person care in serious situations can put your animal's life at risk.
10. Service availability
Sonia.vet may operate 24 hours a day, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, absence of failures, specific response times, continuous WhatsApp operation, connectivity, technical stability, or fully accurate responses.
The service may be suspended, changed, limited, or discontinued at any time, with or without prior notice, especially for technical, operational, legal, regulatory, or security reasons.
11. Free use, trials, and changes
Sonia.vet may be offered free of charge, on a promotional, experimental, sponsored, or limited basis.
We may change features, usage limits, availability, sponsors, access rules, business model, or free-use conditions at any time.
The fact that the service is free does not alter its limitations and does not turn Sonia.vet into an in-person, hospital, emergency, or diagnostic veterinary service.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sonia.vet and Vidaah will not be liable for damages arising from:
inappropriate use of the platform; incorrect, incomplete, or omitted information provided by the user; delay by the user in seeking in-person care; decisions made without veterinary evaluation; connectivity failures or unavailability of WhatsApp or third parties; incorrect interpretation of messages; use of the platform in emergencies; or conduct, diagnoses, treatments, or services provided by third parties.
Nothing in these Terms shall be construed as excluding liability in situations where Brazilian law does not permit such exclusion.
13. Disclaimer on outcomes
Sonia.vet does not guarantee cure, clinical improvement, correct diagnosis, identification of all diseases, prevention of worsening, availability of veterinary care, or any specific outcome.
Animal health involves biological, environmental, behavioral, and clinical factors that cannot be fully assessed through messages, audio, photos, or videos.
14. Privacy and data processing
When using Sonia.vet, you may send personal data, contact information, messages, images, audio, approximate location, animal-related data, and other information related to the consultation.
Such data may be processed in order to operate the platform, respond to messages, improve triage quality, ensure security, prevent abuse, perform auditing, comply with legal obligations, and develop the services.
Brazil's General Data Protection Law (LGPD) applies to the processing of personal data through digital means by individuals or legal entities, and health-related data may be considered sensitive when linked to an identified or identifiable natural person.

Do not send information about third parties without authorization.

Sonia.vet should be used by adults, or by minors with the authorization and supervision of their legal guardians.
By using the platform, you confirm that you have the legal capacity to accept these Terms or that you are duly authorized by a legal guardian.
17. Prohibited conduct
You are prohibited from using Sonia.vet to:
carry out unlawful acts; send false, abusive, offensive, or fraudulent content; attempt to obtain a veterinary diagnosis, prescription, or report improperly; use the platform as a deliberate substitute for emergency care; exploit, copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the systems; overload the platform; violate intellectual-property rights; or use Sonia.vet's responses for commercial, legal, expert, or professional purposes without authorization.
18. Intellectual property
The Sonia.vet brand, technology, triage flows, texts, interfaces, knowledge base, models, prompts, materials, designs, logos, content, and other elements of the platform belong to Vidaah or its licensors.
Use of the platform does not grant the user any intellectual-property rights over Sonia.vet or its components.
19. WhatsApp communications
By contacting Sonia.vet through WhatsApp, you authorize the sending of messages related to triage, follow-up, security, service operation, terms, privacy, and information relevant to the consultation.
You may end the conversation at any time. Deleting messages on your device or on WhatsApp may not remove records already stored in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable legal obligations.
20. Updates to these Terms
We may change these Terms of Use at any time to reflect legal, regulatory, technical, operational, or commercial changes.
The current version will be published at www.sonia.vet or communicated through another official channel. Continued use of Sonia.vet after such updates constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
21. Governing law and venue
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil.
Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent forum under applicable Brazilian law, with consumer-protection rights observed where applicable.
